The Story behind the Flight of Freedom     

Developmental Delays in children may occur due to a variety of problems with genetics, trauma, infection, lack of blood flow, environmental toxins, and many more known or unknown causes. Their numbers are growing due to increasing environmental pollution and poisoning, coupled by enhanced availability of Neonatal ICUs that enable many poor prognosis children to survive birth insults.
Conservative Opinion by “Experts” advises against Medical Interventions like HBOT and other procedures, since they believe that genetic faults and brain damage are incurable. Unfortunately, most of the studies disproving such a concept are not available on "Free Medline" which is just about the only "Line" of databases these experts rely on. There are more than 100 "Lines" in the US Library of Congress, but you need to pay per view: how many do it??
We maintain that established Standard Therapy is the Foundation of any Rehabilitation package. 
However, search for, and removal or amelioration of the accompanying medical pathologies, CAN reduce the severity of disabilities and enhance Quality of Life and manageability of the affected person. That is the basis of our philosophy at UDAAN and the theme of this site.

GROPING IN THE DARK ... BUT WITH A PURPOSE

Established centers with a complete panel of medical and therapy experts must attempt careful scientific research, backed by thorough testing and precautions, to evaluate various locally available experimental medical possibilities, without pre-conceived notions or bias. These experimental methods must have a reasonable medical and physiological basis behind them. This is the only way we may offer hope of a better prognosis for the special need child, especially our future generations.

It is like groping for the light switch in a dark room, but unless someone does it, we will forever be condemned to remain in a dark room.

UDAAN for the Differently Abled, at New Delhi, India, is one such centre with a panel of a dozen medical experts, three dozen therapy experts, backed by the resources of a University and two Internationally accredited Super-Specialty Pathological Laboratories and the first CT-SPECT Fusion Brain Scan center in India, recognized and partially aided by the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India. 
TEAM UDAAN consisting of a medical panel of about 10 experts in various disciplines, about two dozen qualified therapists in all departments of rehabilitation and about 6 trained therapy helpers, is carrying out such scientific studies under carefully regulated conditions, to try and achieve its mission of hope for children with CP, Autism and recently Down Syndrome.
