Children with CP seem to be nobody's business. Many father's have been known to divorce their wives, blaming them for the birth of a CP child. Usually, only the mother is left to fend for the child, and the father, if well educated and sympathetic, chipping in. Other siblings usually tolerate them, and may look after them grudgingly after the parents are no more.

It therefore becomes imperative to build a home for CP where they will be well looked after and loved.

Parents of handicapped children should get together to form an Association, to build a home for CP and Mentally Handicapped children, with governmental backing in the form of maximum income tax exemption for donation, subsidized land allotment, building and running cost funds on a regular basis. Parents desirous of registering their child should earmark a significant portion of their insurance, savings and retirement benefits into a trust fund, to be given to the Home when they are no more, in return for a permanent placement of their ward in the home till his / her death, inclusive of board and lodging, medical benefits and other charges.

In Delhi, INDIA, such an association has come into being, called HANDICAPPED CHILDREN'S PARENTS ASSOCIATION. It is registered as a charitable organization, and has been granted the highest level of income tax exemption on donations (100%). It has been allotted land for the home at a place called Pappankalan in south-west of Delhi. The Home is built and is now starting to get functional:

The President
HCPA
C/o. AADI (Spastic Society of Northern India)
Balbir Saxena Marg, Hauz Khas
New Delhi, India.

The building has come up to a large extent and now some support / therapy services have already started from the autumn of 2003.

If you would like to help this worthy cause, donations desired may be sent in the name of "HCPA".
Donors in India can avail of
100% income tax exemption on the donated amount.
